I badly want to learn how to use this film camera! Kuya showed this to me the moment I entered in my Lola’s house.
This is an old camera but for me, this is so NEW!
Did you know?
The Pentax K1000 was released in 1976 by the Asahi Optical Company. The last model with that marquee rolled down the assembly line in 1997, an amazing 21-year production span. @_@ (source)
The Pentax K1000 is one of photography’s greatest, most popular and longest-lived cameras.

My New Sidekick!

My Lumix :) - Panasonic DMC -LX5 (successor of the popular LX3)
My point and shoot buddy! I really want to get the GF1 but it’s already a phased out model. I don’t like its upgraded version GF2 because it’s a touch-screen camera and my friends know me that I’m not a fan of touch screen gadgets. I don’t know why. I bought this yesterday in Funan, SG. Grabe! recommended place to buy electronics. I’m hating Sim Lim now, WHY? They have lots of hocus focus, magics and deceiving tactics just to attract customers. Others may say that it’s cheaper to buy gadgets in Sim Lim because Funan daw is for uppermarket I guess they’re all wrong, it’s better in Funan! prices in Sim Lim are higher than in Funan. So there.
Taking photos with this cam makes me feel like I’m using aDSLR because I can take photos on a wide angle and manual controls. This is the recommended camera by my photographer friends since I asked them for suggestions and told them I don’t want to have that bulky DSLR to carry around with me, I’m happy that finally I have something to use that is not as heavy as DSLR. ^_^

here are some sample photos I took this afternoon.

“Beginning with the lens, there is a wide aperture f/2.0 Leica lens in front of the 10.1-megapixel CCD image sensor. That sounds somewhat techy, but photographers know the value of Leica. That company has a respected name in the industry. Speaking of “only” 10.1 megapixels, Panasonic has been a leader with regard to adding quality rather than quantity to the pixels in their sensors. We are finally getting the message that the number of pixels is not as important as the quality of those pixels. And experts have been proclaiming the excellence of this Panasonic sensor since the LX3 made its mark with pro photo shooters.”

What comes out of the camera is the final product?
I’m surprised and happy that some people from I-don’t-know-where-they-came-from answered my random question which I posted last Saturday. I am reading few reviews and blog posts about post processing and the so-called “darkroom” in photography when I randomly posted this question (See this post) or the photo below.

and their comments…

Thank you, I guess people have different perspectives when talking about photo enhancing :)
